Executive Director

The search for the next Executive Director of SALTS is underway! We are grateful to be supported in the search by Nelson/Kraft, a Canadian executive search firm.

The ED of SALTS is the Society’s chief executive leader, entrusted with stewarding a purpose-driven mission that transforms young lives through sail training, character development, and service at sea. Accountable to the SALTS Board of Directors, the ED provides overall leadership for the organization’s vision, strategy, culture, and operational performance, ensuring that SALTS fulfills its mission with integrity, excellence, and faithfulness."
 
Location: Victoria, BC

Not an experienced sailor? That's okay—SALTS provides all the training necessary to safely operate our ships and fulfill your role! Experienced sailor? We've got officer roles too. Applications for professional crew roles will be reviewed by our hiring committee as they are received, and positions are based out of our office and marina in Victoria.

Shoreside Staff:

All other shoreside staff roles are currently filled.

SALTS' shoreside staff work from the SALTS office or workshop to support the mission of SALTS by coordinating functions such as finance, program registration, fundraising, boat sales, communications, and schooner maintenance. These are full-time, year-round positions that are based onshore. Please note before applying that all shoreside staff must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Advancement of Christian faith is not the only aim of SALTS, and it is pursued in a way that is respectful, welcoming, non-coercive and non-judgmental of program participants from all walks of life and beliefs.
